Oh the religious passion with which John L. Perkins of the Secular Society of Australia (Letters, 27/6) defends the cause of Australian secularism! "Secular values … remain the basis of a harmonious, non-sectarian society … and are based on the universal principles of compassion, honesty, freedom and justice.
