I hope Steve Bracks had a good summer break. Sounds like he needed it. And I'm glad I'm not a Labor politician. It's probably just me. But I've never quite grasped the sense of the seemingly time-honoured factional system. (And is there a better oxymoron anywhere than "Labor Unity Faction"?) Not only do you have to fight off the sharks from the opposing side every four years at the ballot box; you also need to share your dinghy with the factional piranhas while you paddle in between. I'd stay on the jetty.
