If you were renovating a house which had been trashed by the tenants from hell, it’s unlikely you’d engage those very tenants for the project. Yet metaphorically, that’s precisely God’s strategy for restoring his damaged creation, and it’s human inhabitants, to the former beauty and oneness. It starts with God reaching out to Abram, a man in spiritual darkness.
