A psalm of rescue. The Hebrew faith, given voice in the psalms, took hardship, trial and crisis as givens, received reflectively; opportunities to recognise how very good God has been to his people, time and again, each personally, and together as a nation. This psalm, one of the Hallel psalms sung by Passover pilgrims, invites us to recall how very good God has been to us and the world, in the gift of salvation, sealed in the Easter cry, “Christ is Risen!"
